On Tuesday evening Nanuet residents turned out by the hundreds to support the Nanuet Fire District's bond proposal for a new Nanuet firehouse.

By the end of the evening, the results were clear, and an overwhelming majority said "Yes!" to the new firehouse proposal. The vote, which comes at the culmination of numerous public information question / answer meetings held throughout the summer had been highly publicized by the Nanuet Fire District.

"On behalf of all of the members of the Nanuet Fire Company we are all truly thankful to the residents of Nanuet for their support for the new firehouse project,” said Commissioner Straut. “We will now be able to move forward and bring a well designed, functioning building to the Nanuet Community."
