It was no ordinary Monday morning in one particular Nanuet neighborhood today, as a single family residence exploded in a spectacular ball of flame and debris.

Luckily, the explosion was well planned and choreographed. Producers from the hit FOX-TV series "The Following" had scouted the location and determined the unoccupied home as the perfect candidate for the special effects scene.

Pyrotechnicans carefully rigged the house to explode on command, and with Nanuet FD volunteers standing by for safety, the explosion was detonated around 11:00am.

As expected, there were no injuries, and the scene went off perfectly as planned.
