At 4:15am on Wednesday 9/30, Nanuet FD was alerted to respond onto the New York State Thruway southbound for a reported car vs tractor trailer with at least one victim trapped.

Lieutenant Joe Pacella and Firefighter Craig Simon used the HURST "Jaws of Life" to remove the door of the car, which had come to rest against the center median of the highway. Firefighter Vincent Skokos assisted EMS with patient stabilization as the extrication took place.
